Your child is no longer considered an eligible dependent for DXC benefit plans once they turn age 26 unless they are disabled.
- Your child’s coverage ends on the first day of the month following your child’s 26th birthday. Your child will be removed from all coverage (e.g., medical, dental, vision, life) automatically. You do not need to take any action.
- Through COBRA (the Consolidated Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act), you may be able to continue your child’s health care coverage (medical, dental and vision) under the plan(s) in which they are currently enrolled.
- If your child is covered by the DXC child life insurance plan, MetLife will mail you information about your options to continue that coverage, or you may contact MetLife directly for details. You may also receive a call directly from a financial professional contracted by MetLife to help you make this important financial decision.
- For information about continuing coverage for disabled/handicapped children over age 26, contact the DXC Benefits Center.
- Update your beneficiary information to protect your family’s financial well-being.
