Set aside tax-free money to pay for qualified health care expenses today or save for future health care expenses.
If you enroll in one of the High Deductible Health Plan options through DXC — in the Bronze, Bronze Plus or Silver coverage levels — you can open a Health Savings Account (HSA) in most cases (see the eligibility requirements). An HSA is a powerful tool that can help you spend less on your current health care expenses and save for your future.
You can use your HSA to help cover your deductible and eligible expenses. Whatever you don’t use today can be saved and invested for the future, giving you a great way to build a nest egg for your health care expenses.
Participation in DXC’s HSA requires an active enrollment each year, even if you want to contribute $0 from your paycheck. You can prospectively start or change your pre-tax HSA contributions throughout the year. Changes go into effect in the following month.
You decide how much to save up to the IRS annual limit. It’s a good idea to save enough to cover your annual deductible. It’s also important to keep in mind that the limit amounts include. your contributions and DXC’s contribution (see below about the wellness incentive) .
- The 2024 annual limit is $4,150 if you’re covering just yourself or $8,300 if you’re covering yourself and your family.
- The 2025 annual limit is $4,300 if you’re covering just yourself or $8,550 if you’re covering yourself and your family.
If you’re age 55 or older (or will turn age 55 during the plan year), you can also make additional “catch-up” contributions to your HSA up to $1,000.
Whatever money you don’t use stays in your HSA until you need it, even from one year to the next, so the HSA is a great way to save for future expenses.
Our partner for HSA administration is MetLife. You can check your HSA balance, submit claims and manage your HSA investments through the MetLife Participant Portal for the DXC Spending Accounts.
Don’t miss out on your wellness incentive!
If you are enrolled in one of the eligible DXC health plans mentioned above and open an HSA through DXC for the current plan year, you are eligible to earn an HSA contribution from DXC in the Healthy Behaviors Wellness Program. When you set your own HSA contributions for the year, keep that DXC contribution in mind. You don’t want to hit the HSA annual contribution limit and then miss out on that free money from DXC!
