Eligibility for full-time employees
Full-time employees — employees who regularly work 30 or more hours a week — are eligible for all U.S. benefits.
Eligibility for part-time, temporary and casual employees
Part-time, temporary and casual employees are eligible for the following benefits:
- Business Travel Accident Insurance
- Commuter Reimbursement Account (where required by law)
- Discounts (Perks at Work)
- Enhanced Family Supports Program (Bright Horizons)
- Caregiver and Parent Support Program (Torchlight)
- DXC 401(k)
Eligibility for family members
If you are eligible for a benefit, your family members are also eligible if they are:
- Your legal spouse (same or opposite sex), including common spouses in states that recognize common law marriage, as long as you are not legally separated. (A “legal separation” is based on a court order that defines legally enforceable rights and obligations of the parties. Merely living apart is not a legal separation.)
- Your domestic partner (of same or opposite sex) who meets the following criteria (please note that imputed income applies) :
- You and your partner live in a state that has a process to recognize domestic partnerships, civil unions, etc., and you have formalized your relationship through that process; or
- You live in a state that does not have a process to recognize domestic partners and, therefore, have not formalized your partnership as indicated above. However, all of the criteria below are met:
- You and your partner are at least age 18; and
- Neither you nor your partner are legally married to another person of the same or opposite sex or in partnership with another person of the same or opposite sex, and have not been for at least six months; and
- You and your partner are not related to each other by blood to a degree of closeness that would prohibit marriage in your state of residence; and
- You and your partner are in an exclusive, committed relationship that is intended to continue indefinitely; and
- You and your partner share a mutual obligation of support and responsibility for each other’s welfare; and
- You and your partner currently share a principal residence, have done so for at least six months, and intend to reside together indefinitely; and
- You must be able to provide 3 of the 8 documentation categories for dependent verification.
- A child who meets all of the following criteria:
- Must be under age 26 for medical, dental, vision and dependent life insurance; and
- Must be your child (including an adopted child, stepchild, eligible foster child and a child for whom a court has appointed you legal guardian) or the child of your qualified domestic partner as defined above.
- Adopted child includes a child lawfully placed with you for legal adoption even if the adoption is not final.
- Foster child is any child who is placed with you by an authorized placement agency or by judgment, decree, or other order of any court of competent jurisdiction.
- An adult disabled child beyond age 26 if they are not married, incapable of self-sustaining employment by reason of mental or physical handicap, and continue to be dependent for support and maintenance. Call the DXC Benefits Center for additional information and requirements.
Verification of dependent eligibility
When you enroll a family member in your coverage, you will be asked to provide documentation to verify their eligibility for coverage under DXC’s benefits plans— such as a marriage, birth or adoption certificate.
If you are adding a family member to your coverage within 30 days of a life event (such as marriage, birth or adoption), you must enroll them within the 30-day deadline even if you don’t yet have the documentation. You can provide the documentation when you receive it.
Failure to provide the documentation may result in a lapse in your dependent’s coverage.
See the Dependent Verification page for details.
