Save money on health care and dependent care expenses.
A flexible spending account (FSA) enables you to set aside tax-free money in an account that you can use to pay for eligible health care or dependent day care expenses. By using tax-free money to pay for these expenses, you lower your taxable income, which can reduce the amount of taxes you pay. You can elect one of the health FSAs (either the Health FSA or the Limited Purpose Health FSA, depending on your medical plan election), the Dependent Day Care FSA or both.
Plan carefully when determining how much to contribute. Any unused balance at the end of the plan year will be forfeited. You generally have until March 31 to file claims for expenses incurred during the previous calendar year. For example, to count toward your 2024 FSA contributions, expenses must be incurred between January 1 and December 31, 2024, and submitted by March 31, 2025.
You can elect or update your FSA contributions when you are newly eligible, during Benefits Annual Enrollment or within 30 days of a qualifying life event. Our partner for FSA administration is MetLife. You can check your FSA balance and submit FSA claims through the MetLife Participant Portal for the DXC Spending Accounts.
Health FSA
If you enroll in a Gold or Platinum medical option or waive DXC medical coverage, you can participate in a Health FSA, which lets you set aside pre-tax dollars for eligible medical, dental and vision expenses.
If you enroll in the Bronze, Bronze Plus or Silver coverage level, you can set aside pre-tax dollars in a Health Savings Account (HSA) to pay for eligible medical expenses. If you want to set aside additional pre-tax dollars for dental and vision expenses, your Health FSA can only be used for eligible dental and vision expenses.
The Health FSA contribution limit for 2024 is $3,050. The Health FSA contribution limit for 2025 is $3,200.
Dependent Care FSA
You can use a Dependent Care FSA to reimburse yourself for certain caregiver expenses for a child or other dependent, so you can work. The Dependent Care FSA is not for dependent health care expenses and is not dependent on your medical coverage election.
The Dependent Care FSA annual contribution limit is $5,000 (or $2,500 if you are married and filing taxes separately).Â
