If you are an employee and a loved one passes away, this checklist can help you through this difficult time. If you are the spouse/domestic partner of a DXC employee who has passed away, please reach out to the employee’s manager or supervisor for assistance.
- Reach out for grief counseling through the LifeManagement Employee Assistance Program (EAP). You may also want to use the LifeManagement EAP’s attorney consultation service (for one free 60-minute attorney consultation) or Money Coach service (for a 30-minute consultation with a Money Coach up to three times per topic per year).
- Reach out to your supervisor and/or manager to discuss bereavement time off.
- If you need to update your DXC benefits, you must do so within 30 days of the date of death. Log in to your DXC Benefits Center account and select the Life Events menu at the top of the homepage or contact the DXC Benefits Center.
- The claim for life insurance and any other applicable insurance benefits will be initiated once the DXC Benefits Center process your change of benefits. You may also contact the DXC Benefits Center if you have any questions or want to find out the status of the claim.
- Review your beneficiary designations and make any necessary updates.
- Explore the Resource Center of this site for specific resources and services that can help you during this time of your life, such as free will preparation services through MetLife, free attorney consultations and money coaching through the LifeManagement Employee Assistance Program (EAP), and more.
- Review your emergency contact information in Workday and update if necessary.
